Esra Önen, founder and head coach of Swim Up Camp and a national swimming coach, shares her knowledge and experience on television, radio, podcasts, at conferences and in print, helping the sport of swimming grow.

Esra Önen
She started swimming at six or seven, at her family’s suggestion, at Petrol Ofisi Sports Club in Ankara, under Oleg, the coach who brought her up. She grew up in the Russian school, which she says gave her a discipline of its own. From 2015 to 2022 she coached at the Turkish Olympic Preparation Centre (TOHM) in Ankara and worked with many Olympic and national swimmers. She is a Turkish Swimming Federation Level 3 Senior Swimming Coach. She founded Frekans Swimming Academy Sports Club and is its president, founded Swim Up Camp and coaches there, and sits on the Federation’s Masters Technical Committee.
